When was the last time you deluded yourself with the idea that you "need more balance" in your life 😳
Yes, you read that correctly, I said "deluded yourself"...
Because, you see, the idea of Balance is a Myth 😲
Have you ever noticed that the more you seek to balance the things in your life that you deem important, the more out of balance you feel?
You know how this goes: When you are busy with a work project, you find yourself distracted by thoughts of "I should be spending time with my significant other/kids AND when you are hanging out with your family, you find yourself ruminating about work challenges instead of being fully present in what is "should" be a relaxing activity 🤦♀️
Just thinking about the overused phrase "Work/Life Balance" makes me cringe 😬
Because it's just one more thought that your Inner Critic uses to make you feel like shit 😝
When you go about your life "trying" to balance all the parts, you spend a lot of time feeling like a failure 😫
Let's test out a different way of approaching all of these important aspects of your life...
What if instead of seeking Balance, you focused on Counterbalance 🤔
How much more efficient and effective would you be (and feel) if you focused fully on work when you were working and on your family/friend/fun time when that was what you chose to do?
Stop letting your Inner Critic tell you what you "should" be doing and follow the lead of your Inner CEO who knows that Counterbalance is key 😘
